Abstract:

Recently, a number of Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) based training algorithms have been introduced for training deep neural network structures. ELM based Auto-Encoder (ELM-AE) is one such algorithm that has been used for making multilayer structures and tuning parameters of each layer. In a simple ELM-AE training algorithm, the weights of the first layer are initialized randomly. This issue is a leading factor in producing reconstruction error. The frequent use of ELM-AE in deep network layers results in propagating such errors through deep structures and in decreasing performance as a consequent. In this paper, we introduce a multilayer structure and a new learning algorithm to train it that prevents error propagation. In order to boost the performance of the model, the parameters in the first layer are initialized by a novel type of ELM-AE called Repeated-AE (RAE) rather than by a random selection method. This RAE-based technique determines the parameters in the first layer far better than do the other ELM-AE existed methods. Next, a single hidden layer ELM is applied for handling the classification task. Experimental results for data classification show that the proposed method outperforms some other methods in terms of the average accuracy over all datasets by amounts of 4%, 26%, 17% and 31%. Eventually, so as to verify the performance of the proposed multilayer ELM-AE in application, we used this model to reconstruct images. The reconstructed images obtained by our approach appeared visually a lot better compared to those obtained by the other methods do.

Abstract:

Martin Heidegger's idea is a whole interconnected and the universality of it can be considered as a "philosophy of technology". The central concept of Heidegger's philosophy is Being, concealment and its concealment. His course of thought begins with a critique of metaphysics from Plato to Nietzsche and it goes on to try to develop another kind of philosophy. Then, by way of metaphysics, it reaches Gestell. The " Gestell" absolute a horizon of the concealment of Being as the essence of modern technology, with its semantic synonymy in the sense of perfection and the end of metaphysics. The present study will reconstruct Heidegger's thought about the concept of "Gestell" and will show how his totality of thought can be regarded as a philosophy of integrated technology. As any regional interpretation of his views on technology will require consideration of the whole of his thinking.

Abstract:

Background: reconstruction of nasal dorsum following excisional rhinoplasty has been a challenging problem. The nasal dorsum has special characteristics that could not be easily restored by lateral osteotomies. The present article introduces a new surgical technique for reconstruction of nasal dorsum after excisional rhinoplasty; named underlay grafting for reconstruction of nasal dorsum.Materials and methods: Fifteen patients underwent the new surgical technique and followed for 18 months. Results: The new surgical technique could effectively restore the natural characteristics of nasal dorsum. None of the patients showed any evidence of postoperative decreased competency of internal valves. Conclusions: The new surgical technique seems to be reliable to reconstruct the nasal dorsum following excision of a large hump.

Abstract:

Introduction: Auricular reconstruction of partial ear defects is usually challenging, especially in extended resections or traumas. Helical rim is the most noticeable part of ear with aesthetic significance, which demands detailed procedures. Helical rim advancement is a known procedure to reshape lacerated rim. In the original technique, a chondrocutaneous flap is raised in order to preserve the posterior skin and consequently, the blood supply. Case Report: Due to auricle’ s rich blood supply, we selected an inferiorly based flap of helical rim, which we incised completely, even the posterior skin, in order to advance the flap more freely to the cephalic side and relaxed cephalically. In five patients with helix tumors, this reconstructive procedure was done without threatening the blood supply and flap ischemia. Moreover, posterior skin traction or subsequent deformity, as one of concerns of reconstructive surgeons, were also eradicated. Conclusion: It appears that this modification can be noteworthy in auricular reconstruction.

Abstract:

Purpose: The study purpose was to determine and compare the Recall and Precision of Bing and Google image search engines for content based image retrieval. Methodology: The research used webometrics and comparative methods. Population includes images stored in the databases of Bing and Google search engines, and research sample includes 15 selective images searched in any of search engines. All the retrieved sources through the images by image content based image search were gathered, results’ Recall and Precision measures were calculated by relevance formula and their average percentage were obtained. Research hypotheses were tested by U Mann-Whitney test as well. Findings: Findings showed that the Google search engine functionality was higher with recall measure of % 88. 73 than recall rate (%20. 86) for Bing. But Bing search engine had higher precision (% 99. 86) than Google (%94. 80). Results: Hypotheses tests on recall and precision in two search engines’ image retrieval showed a significant difference for recall in favor of Google, indicating its better functionality than Bing but there was no significant difference between them concerning precision since both showed fair precision however Bing was relatively useful.

Abstract:

In this paper, an alternative approach in operational modal analysis is presented, utilizing image processing technique and transmissibility functions. Imaging sensors do not impose additional mass on the structure due to their non-contact nature, while transmissibility functions, independent of excitation type, can directly extract mode shapes. The innovation of this research lies in combining these two techniques to record dynamic responses and identify modal properties. To capture the temporal response history from video signals, the block-matching method with sub-pixel accuracy was employed. Validation was conducted by recording the response of the tip of a cantilevered steel beam subjected to impact excitation, using a high-speed camera and a laser vibrometer, simultaneously. The RMSE plots in the time domain and the PSD in the frequency domain indicate high accuracy of this method. Using this approach, the displacement time histories of various points on the structure were extracted from the video signals, and the modal properties, including natural frequencies, damping ratios, and mode shapes, were identified using the transmissibility matrix method. The results obtained from the proposed method were compared with the stochastic subspace identification (SSI) method and analytical solutions. The findings reveal the accuracy of the modal identification approach introduced in this article. The highest relative error in estimating the natural frequencies of the first and second modes, compared to the values from the laser method, are 0.19% and 0.13%, respectively, and in comparison to the analytical values, they are 0.34% and 1.5%, respectively.

Abstract:

In Kant and the Problem of Metaphysics (KPM), Heidegger shows how the initial image-making power of the imagination is pictorial in the pure image of time. He further clarifies the recognized link between the syntheses and the time-visualizing power of images which is pictorial formative power, which can visualize time. The three syntheses of imagination are replaced with the modes of existence of Dasein. Three kinds of photographs resemble the images produced when the transcendental imagination functions as Dasein. We can address the ways to visualize time by considering Dasein with a photographic preoccupation through 1. A possible look in the form of presentation (a photograph shows an immediate look of a house or person as intuitable this-here); 2. An immediate look of the thing, house, or deceased person, as well as a copy or its reproduction as a death mask; and, 3. The manner of contemplation of a likeness is an immediate look of a being present in the form of representation.
